Magical cinnamon
"Venus was the most beautiful of women, that's why cinnamon is bitter and sweet, like every woman" (A Touch of Spice)
Even after giving birth to my two children, my two first days of period, are usually really painful. Yes, there are painkillers, but, I don't like repeating myself...I always prefer natural products, when they do the trick. So, here's THE painkiller for menstrual cramps.
I boil a cinnamon stick and drink the product with a teaspoon of honey (I prefer the sweet taste - honey doesn't help with the pain, so you can spare it if you prefer).
I also use cinnamon in other situations for its therapeutic qualities as well as its sweet smell. It can soothe sore throats, pharyngitis, or be used as an expectorant. Again boil it and then add lemon juice (half a lemon for example). Cinnamon is also considered an antioxidant (which means can protect you from cancer and slow down ageing). Is it true? Who can tell? Anyway, if you enjoy it, drink a cinnamon tea with 1-2 tablespoons of honey, it is said to be healthy! (Honey should be added in the hot tea, since boiling destroys its good essences).
Last but not least, we can't ignore cinnamon's sweet fragrance. Hang 2-3 sticks in your bathroom, put them in your drawers, or vacuum some cinnamon dust to fragrance your place. You can also glue sticks around candles as crafting and decoration...
