My dog sheds!

Dog shedding ... Help!!

Spring seams reluctant to come to Greece this year. Nevertheless some of its drawbacks are already present. I'm not referring to allergies or moody days. I'm talking about something far more real. My dog's shedding. I have a short haired Jack Russell that loses a dog of hair each day every year during spring and autumn. Here is some practical advice that work with my dog's shedding:

1. Everyday grooming (the amount of hair on the floor and fabrics is really reduced)

2. Solomon oil with their food (we already give Harris dried dog food based on fish, rich in omega lipids. Solomon oil though makes a difference. Using it has two defects: a) it's somewhat expensive -although 2-3 drops per day do the trick, so one bottle might last a month. b) My dog -at least- likes it a lot. So when we stop using it, he doesn't eat his food for 1-2 days)

3. Bathe your dog in the begining of spring or autumn (we usually bathe Harris once during the winter and 2-3 times during summertime. For a week after his bath -with special shampoo- he sheds less).

I've also noticed that being happy, helps my dog shed less throughout the year. When he excercises, goes for walks and plays with us daily, he is calmer and the shedding is reduced.

Patience!!
